Netflix BroPicks For May 24

Another week, another seven days to fill with entertainment while the NBA Playoffs aren't on. Luckily, you don't need to spend hours shuffling through Netflix's overwhelming library to find something to watch – the Manwall crew has already scoured thousands of hours of movies and TV shows to make sure we bring you the best BroFlix selections to get you through til next week.

Surviving The Cut: Think you have it tough? This Discovery Channel series takes you inside the ridiculous training programs at every different special forces group in the United States armed forces. The first two seasons include the Army Rangers, the Air Force Pararescue, Recon Marines, Divers, Snipers, Navy EOD, and more specialized ones. You can catch the full first season on Netflix.

Drive: Brand new on Netflix, Ryan Gosling plays a Hollywood stunt driver who works as a getaway driver in his spare time – though never for the same people twice. As the old school crime noir thriller goes, his rules get broken and he gets caught up in a mafia war. Great cast too, featuring Bryan Cranston, Albert Brooks, Christina Hendricks, and Ron Perlman.

Harsh Times: Think Training Day but with a bad ass Christian Bale rather than Denzel. Starring Bale, Freddy Rodriguez, and Eva Longoria, Harsh Times follows an ex-Marine who can't get a job and falls into a life of crime. Soon, he is caught up in an all out gangwar over drugs and guns when all he was looking for was a paycheck.

Adaptation: This classic Charlie Kaufman film stars Nick Cage as...well, Charlie Kaufman. Go inside the mind of a neurotic screenwriter who struggles with basic interactions, thoughts, and eventually gets caught up in a fictional relationship with his characters, along with his fictional brother. It's really one that you have to see to get (preferably stoned). Also stars Chris Cooper, Meryl Streep, and Tilda Swinton.

Doug Stanhope: Burning the Bridge to Nowhere: Doug Stanhope is one of the most outspoken, controversial, and amazing stand up comedians out there. His fifth special takes him to Oslo, Norway to a makeshift theater put together in a former Nazi World War II bunker. There, he tackles royalty, the olympics, unemployment, spinning dildos, and stinkless pussy. Really, though, you should check out anything that Doug Stanhope has put out, he's amazing.
